Armenian vandalism in Shusha

House of Zulfugar Hajibayov

The House of Zulfugar Hajibayov is classified as a historical monument in Azerbaijan “bearing state importance” and one of the architectural samples of the nineteenth century. It is located in Mardinli mahalla (neighborhood) of Shusha city, opposite Mardinli Square. Before the occupation of Shusha by Armenians, the House was used as Shusha city Education Department. As a result of the occupation of Shush city by the Armenian Armed Forces in 1992, the monument was plundered and destroyed. Currently, only the ruins of the House of Zulfugar Hajibayov remain.
