Order of the President of the Republic of AzerbaijanOn measures related to the declaration of the city of Shusha as the “Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization” for 2026

On October 5, 2023, at the 5th meeting of the Ministers of Tourism of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization held in the city of Ardabil of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the cultural capital of Azerbaijan – the city of Shusha – was declared the “Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization” for 2026. This decision is an expression of special respect for Shusha, one of the important centers of the historical-cultural, socio-political life of Azerbaijan, and will play a particular role in the further expansion of cooperation among the member states in the field of tourism.
Guided by Item 32 of Article 109 of the Constitution of the Republic of Azerbaijan, I hereby resolve:
1. The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan shall:
1.1. prepare and implement an action plan in connection with the declaration of the city of Shusha as the “Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization” for 2026;
1.2. resolve other issues arising from this Order.
